Senior Situation:

I am worried about my family’s ability to handle my finances for me when I get older and if have health problems. They are so busy with their own lives. They don’t live nearby and I want to stay in my home as long as I can.

Naming the Foundation as your professional fiduciary will give you the independence you want while ensuring that your finances will be managed correctly, without putting the burden on family members. The Foundation can serve as your Agent under Power of Attorney, Successor Trustee of your Trust, and Executor under your Will.

If you sign up for their Durable Program, you can get to know the office staff now, while you are healthy, and they will review your documents with you. In this way, you can share your wishes so they will be honored when the time comes.

If you want to live at home as you age, if you become incapacitated, they can hire in-home care for you. Their compassionate care managers will then monitor your health to make sure your needs are met during periods of disability. Working with the Foundation gives you the confidence of knowing that if you become sick, they will be able to seamlessly handle your bills and money management.

ABOUT BLES PUTZ: Blesilda “Bles” Putz is DVFA’s Program Director. Bles is an Air Force veteran with over 20 years of experience in healthcare, specifically mental health, and managing teams. She has an extensive background working within the military health care system and the Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care System. She is a dedicated leader and has worked closely with seniors, veterans, and active-duty service members and other beneficiaries as a Psychometrist. Her passion is providing excellent and compassionate customer service and coordinating resources for our growing senior community. In addition to her MBA in Healthcare Administration, she holds a BA in Psychology. Bles has managed an Air Force Outpatient Mental Health Clinic for the Air Force, an Air Force Inpatient Psychiatric Unit and served as Manager of the Air Force Family Advocacy Program at one of the largest hospitals in the Air Force, located on Travis AFB. She grew up in San Diego but has lived outside of California and the U.S. because of the Air Force. She is proud to call the Bay Area her home with her husband and two sons.
